This web site has been set up for lovers of Food and Wine. The matching of food with wine has always been a personal taste preference, yet one needs pointers to good combinations. With the ever-increasing worldwide interest in wine and the fusion of cooking between countries, continents and cultures the matching of food and wine has become a challenge.
My interest in wines started over 30 years ago. During that time I have joined wine appreciation societies, visited many wine producers and travelled to many countries either though work or holidays.
It was during my travels that I discovered the results of combinations of food and wine.
With a group of friends I started dinner clubs where we get together to make a nice meal matched with wines. With my knowledge and experience I was the one who was asked, “ what wine goes with this food?”
I discovered that there is no definitive wine to go with a particular dish. Even the ‘classical’ combinations Sauternes with Pate for example are not unique to either the Wine or the Food
During my travels and after reading many wine menus of names I’ve never heard of to drink with food that was a basic dish fused with the indigenous country characteristics I realised that to get a good combination I had to find a common link between the wine and the food.
Having read many books and articles browsing many sites this Web site is dedicated to sharing my experiences with food and wine with all who are willing to learn.
From their experiences and responses, I will continue to learn.
